New Library

We would like to say a huge 'Thank you' to our PTFA for raising money to update our library.

Our old bookshelves were looking tired and were no longer fit for purpose, so our friends and parents stepped in and set themselves the task to raise money to replace the furniture. The children are over the moon, it was lovely to hear the gasps of delight when we revealed the new library.

We would also like to thank Mrs Duffy-retired TA, Mrs Jones-retired teacher, Mrs Eaton-school governor, Mrs Frank-volunteer reader and Mrs Clarke-from the village, for coming into school to help to put the books back on the shelves. We are lucky to have so many people that want to be involved with our school and in making it the best for our children. There was alot to sort through but we have so many quality books to support our learning.

Now the books are back, the children cannot wait to use the library more often especially to research thier topic work or simply to take a fiction book to read. We feel that in this 'ipad era' we need to promote books and rekindle a love of reading. Reading and discussions about books increase children's vocabulary and fire the imaginations of our children. In turn this improves thier written work allowing them to reach thier full potential.

Thank you to everyone one involved.

Why not pop in to school to see this beautiful space for yourself?
